Ma Huateng, is an executive Director, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Ma has been overall responsible for strategic planning and product development direction for Tencent. Mr. Ma is one of the Core Founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999. Prior to Tencent, Mr. Ma was in charge of research and development for Internet paging sysytem development at China Motion Telecom Development Limited, a supplier of telecommunications services and products in China. Mr. Ma has a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Computer & its Application obtained in 1993 from Shenzhen University and more than 13 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.

Lau Chi Ping Martin, President
Lau Chi Ping Martin, was appointed as the Executive Director of Tencent in March 2007. In February 2006, Mr. Lau was named as President of Tencent in 2006 to assist Mr. Ma Huateng, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, in managing the day-to-day operation of the company. In February 2005, he joined Tencent as the Chief Strategy and Investment Officer of the company, and was responsible for corporate strategies, investment, merger and acquisitions and investor relations. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Lau was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C's investment banking division and the Chief Operating Officer of its Telecom, Media and Technology Group. Prior to that, he worked at Mckinsey & Company, Inc. as a management consultant. He has over 11 years' experience in IPO, merger and acquisitions and management consulting. Mr. Lau received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
Zhang Zhidong, Chief Technology Officer
Zhang Zhidong, is an executive Director and Chief Technology Officer of the Company. Mr. Zhang has overall responsibilities for the development of our proprietary technologies, including the basic IM platform and massive-scale online application systems. Mr. Zhang is one of the Core Founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999. Prior to his current employment, Mr. Zhang worked at Li Ming Network Group focusing on software and network application systems research and development. Mr. Zhang has a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Computer & its Application obtained in 1993 from Shenzhen University and a Master's degree in Computer Application and System Structure from South China University of Technology obtained in 1996. Mr. Zhang has more than 11 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.
Xu Chenye, Chief Information Officer
Xu Chenye, is the Chief Information Officer of the Company. Mr. Xu is one of the Core Founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999. He has overall responsibilities for strategic planning and development of website properties and communities, customer relations and public relations. Prior to his employment, Mr. Xu gained experience in software system design, network administration as well as marketing and sales management in his previous position at Shenzhen Data Telecommunications Bureau. Mr. Xu received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & its Application from Shenzhen University in 1993 and a Master's degree in Computer & its Application from Nanjing University in 1996.
Chen Yidan, Chief Administration Officer
Chen Yidan, is the Chief Administration Officer of the Company. Mr. Chen is one of the Core Founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999. Mr. Chen has overall responsibilities for administration, legal affairs, human resources and charity fund. He is also responsible for the development of the Group's management system, intellectual property rights and government relations. Prior to his employment, Mr. Chen worked in the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau for several years. Mr. Chen has a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Applied Chemistry obtained in 1993 from Shenzhen University and a Master's degree in Economic Law from Nanjing University obtained in 1996.
Jeff Xiong, Co-Chief Technology Officer
Jeff Xiong, joined the Tencent in 2005 as Co-Chief Technology Officer. Jeff is responsible for developing company R&D capabilities in product strategy planning, new product innovation, core technology research, and engineering excellence. Jeff manages company core platform product groups, including the QQ IM and QQ Mail. Jeff also leads company search and advertisement platform development and business strategy and operation. Prior to joining Tencent, Jeff worked at Microsoft for nine years in Internet Explorer, Windows and MSN product groups; Jeff was founding director of MSN China Development Center. Prior to that, Jeff worked at IBM Internet Division. Jeff has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information System Engineering from National University of Defense Technology in 1987 and a Master's degree in Information Retrieval from Chinese Defense Science and Technology Information Center (CDSTIC) in Beijing in 1990.
David Wallerstein, Senior Executive Vice President, International Business
David A.M. Wallerstein, is Senior Executive Vice President, International Business of the Company, a position he has held since 2001. Mr. Wallerstein leads Tencent Technology's international business initiatives with multinational partners, and is responsible for Tencent Technology's service operations outside mainland China. Prior to this, Mr. Wallerstein was Vice President, Business Development of MIH in China, involved in Internet strategy and mergers and acquisitions activities in China. Before that, Mr. Wallerstein worked as a management consultant in China's telecommunications and IT industries.
Lau Seng Yee, EVP Online Media
S Y Lau, joined Tencent in 2006 with the responsibility of overseeing the company’s online media business division, and also the mandate to further develop the company's online advertising business, and enhancing the corporate brand values for its various web properties. SY Lau is a seasoned professional in digital media and marketing communication with more than 19 years of solid experience working in leading international advertising agencies, and with the previous 15 years in a leadership position in China. In early 2007, SY Lau was named by the China Advertising Association as "Person of the Year 2006 in the China Advertising Industry". That year, he also sits in the advisory board for ad:tech, the globally renowned organization for Online Marketing. At the end of 2007, SY Lau held the post of Vice President of China Advertising Association, as well as the Visiting Professor of Shanghai Normal University. In March 2008, SY Lau was honored with the prestigious "Remarkable Contribution Award for China's 30 Years Advertising History" from China Advertising Association. In January 2010, SY Lau was employed as the Adjunct Professor of School of Journalism and Communication of Xiamen University. Prior to joining Tencent, he was the Managing Partner of Publicis China and the CEO for BBDO China. Before that. He had also held senior management positions at Dentsu Young & Rubicam in Shanghai, and McCann-Erickson in Beijing and Hong Kong. Mr. Lau has been a prolific speaker and article contributor in the advertising industry. He was a former chairman of Shanghai 4As Council in 2003. SY received his EMBA from Rutgers State University of New Jersey, USA. He completed the Advanced Marketing Management courses of Harvard Business School in 2007 and AMP (Advanced Management Program) of Harvard Business School in 2010.
Ren Yuxin, Executive Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Services
Ren Yuxin, became Executive Vice President in September 2005, after serving 5 years as General Manager for value added services and interactive entertainment services. He is currently in charge of the research and development, operation, marketing and sales of Tencent's various online game offerings. Mr. Ren worked at Huawei Technologies, after earning his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1998.
Wu Xiaoguang, Executive Vice President, Internet Services
Wu Xiaoguang, became Executive Vice President with the responsibility to develop and market Tencent's internet value added services in November 2005. Joining the company in 1998, he was one of the masterminds behind the development of Tencent's core instant messaging software QQ and has accumulated rich experience in the research and development, design, operation and marketing of internet services. Mr. Wu graduated from Nanjing University in 1996, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Weather Dynamics.
Liu Chenmin, Executive Vice President, Wireless Services
Liu Chenmin, became Executive Vice President in October 2005 with the responsibility to develop and operate Tencent's wireless business and the management of its regional markets in China. He joined the company in 2003 to run the telecommunication and later mobile communication businesses. A graduate of Harbin Industrial University with a Master of Science degree in Mechanics, Mr. Liu has gained experience in the domestic marketing and sales while working at Huawei Technologies.
Li Haixiang, Executive Vice President, Operations Support System
Li Haixiang, became Executive Vice President in December 2005 with the responsibility to plan, construct and manage the technical platform supporting our various operations. These will cover crucial components facilitating the day-to-day operation of the company, such as the technical architecture, security, settlements, business intelligence, channel connections, fundamental IT, applications and customer servicing platform. Before joining Tencent in 1999, Mr. Li was in charge of developing financial and network application software at an IT system integration company. Mr. Li received his Bachelor degree in Computer Software from South China University of Technology.
Zeng Liqing, Co-founder & Advisor Emeritus
Zeng Liqing was appointed as the Advisor Emeritus to the Company in June 2007. As a core founder and the Chief Operating Officer, he had overall responsibilities for growing the Company's business lines and product portfolios and managed different marketing teams across China. Prior to his employment at Tencent, Mr. Zeng worked at the Shenzhen Data Telecommunications Bureau and had extensive experience in the Internet and telecommunications industries in China.
